GRCCA Students, the year has flown by and summer will be here before we know it. Take the remaining time and be sure to complete your work to be successful in your classes. Parents, I strongly encourage you to sit alongside your child to get a gauge of where they are as we approach the final months of the school year. SENIOR ALERT: We do not have access to college grades, therefore, it is imperative that seniors communicate to our staff if they are not progressing well in a course as it could affect your ability to graduate in just a couple of months. Parents, I must reiterate to please sit down with your son/daughter to review their grades so you're aware of their progress and can advocate for them as needed. GSCS Remote At-Home Learning Day: Friday, May 3
- GHS & SHS Students will observe the GSCS Virtual-At-Home Learning Day
- JHS, PCHS & ZHS Students can come to the GRCCA and remain in the Student Center
GRCCA Final Exams Dates
High School Final Exam dates will take place as follows:
- May 8-9 GRCCA High School Programs Final Exam Dates for Seniors
- May 20-21 GRCCA High School Programs Final Exam Dates for Underclassmen (May 15-16 for PCHS)
College Final Exam dates vary. Instructors are currently notifying students of Final Exam dates and expectations.
- May 8-9 Gordon State College Final Exam Window
- May 7-9 Southern Crescent Technical College Final Exam Window
GRCCA Senior Awards Ceremony
We would like to recognize all senior students that have accomplished certain achievements while attending the GRCCA Campus. Students who have earned one or more TCC’s, 18 or more core academic hours, or earned an Industry Credential will be notified. More information will be provided in May. As to not conflict with other high school ceremonies, seniors may choose from the following dates below to attend:
- Monday, May 20 from 5:00 to 6:00
- Tuesday, May 21 from 5:00 to 6:00
End of Course Assessments
- Students that have an End of Course (EOC) Assessment scheduled during a time in which they are scheduled for courses at the GRCCA, should remain at their home school to take the EOC. These students will be excused and should report to the GRCCA front office to complete the EOC Verification Form. All submittals will be verified prior to excusing the absence. Note: Dual Enrollment students taking college courses that align with required EOC courses to include American Literature and Composition, Algebra I and Biology must take the EOC for that course at their home school if they have not done so in previous years. The only allowed exemption is US History.

PEER Tutoring Schedule
- In an effort to better support Student Achievement here at the GRCCA, we have initiated PEER Tutoring where students tutor students. Tutoring will take place in the Student Center. Direct interested students to Ms. Williamson, tami.williamson@gcscs.org, in the Student Center for more information.
Gordon State College Reminders
- In honor of your achievements, Gordon State College invites you to a special celebration for 2024 Dual Enrollment Graduates. To register for the event, click here: DE to FR Celebration. The event will be held on Tuesday, April 30 at 6:00 p.m. in the GSC Student Activity and Recreation Center, located on the main campus in Barnesville. We will recognize all graduating dual enrollment students and present each with a special cord to wear during your high school graduation ceremony. We also will recognize those of you who will attend Gordon State in the fall and announce the winners of the GSC Dual Enrollment to Freshman Scholarships. We are excited to invite parents and students from the Spalding, Pike and Butts School Districts to come and learn more about the only FAA-approved Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) program on a high school campus in Georgia. This program is offered to Juniors and Seniors. Hear from Delta AMT's, Middle Georgia State University (MGA) Chair of the Department of Aviation Maintenance and Structural Technology as well as the Instructor and Students.

GSCS school nursing services provided a free community screening event for students registering for Griffin-Spalding County Schools in conjunction with Pre-K registration. They provided free screenings for hearing, vision, nutrition and dental yesterday and will again tomorrow.

Did you miss out on the opportunity to enroll in the Agriculture Pathway where students spend time planting and harvesting crops or tending to egg laying chickens. Or one of our Flight or Drone Pathways where you can literally learn to fly, an airplane or a drone. Perhaps you'd rather keep the plane in the air by learning to troubleshoot mechanical issues on an airplane in our Aviation Maintenance Pathway. Maybe you would like to become a “Nation Builder'' by learning to teach and grow young minds in our Teaching as a Profession Pathway. You could take advantage of the 30 hours of free college tuition while you are in high school. If you have a desire to do any of these things we have the program for you!
